In the Mood for Some TIFF?Posted by Dela M - 523 days ago
Are you feeling TIFF-TASTIC perhaps TIFF-TACULAR? If so, it’s because it’s almost that time of year again!
The Toronto International Film Festival is only a few days away. Established in 1976 as the “Festivals of Festivals” and renamed TIFF in 1995, this annual showcase of international and Canadian film has brought together familiar and unfamiliar talents to celebrate the most popular form of art.
This event founded by Bill Marshall, Henk Van der Kolk and Dusty Cohl unites and re-unites artists and film lovers from around the world. It’s a chance to discuss, to view and to understand the array of subjects, music, and culture that are uniquely woven and presented through film.
Why attend TIFF? Simple, it’s a glimpse into the world of film. More importantly, it is an opportunity to view more than a hundred different films. You may only watch one film maybe two but it is the overall experience of being a part of a festival that celebrates differences and similitude and may shed light on topics of interest.
By attending TIFF you are also providing support for new film makers and you’ll have definitely learned a thing or two as film is a great way to learn about other cultures. After attending TIFF you might gain some insight, some new ideas and maybe even want to present your film one day. Nothing is impossible!
TIFF runs from September 9th to 19th and to celebrate their 35th year, TIFF has put together a special series of their favourite films from the past and it’s all for free!
Don’t miss out on this event as it brings together people from around the world to share their ideas, culture and imagination all beautifully put together and brilliantly showcased in our very own city of Toronto!
