Kalaikal Creative Arts (KCA) is a nonprofit arts organization striving to showcase the Tamil culture through various avenues. Our vision is to empower utilizing numbers to preserve and foster the Tamil culture, as well as to bridge the gap between the community and the arts.

Since the formation of the organization the goal has been to foster the arts and bring awareness to KALAIKAL, the inter-College & University Dance Competition, by allowing it to grow to an annual event that extends across North America and possibly internationally. KCA believes that it is its responsibility to reach out to students and youth to help them revive their passion. From day one this organization has been determined to make KALAIKAL not just another dance or talent show but a unique event, an event focusing on Unity, Identity and Charity.

KCA was founded by college & university students who felt a desire and need to unite in order to honour the arts and utilize it to initiate projects for the betterment of our societal trends. Our organization strives to bring creative arts to a new elevation and use it as a means to pave the way to good will ambassadorship amongst the greater community. Our vision is to bring our communities together regardless of class differences to appreciate arts and give back to charitable causes.

KALAIKAL, the inter-College & University Dance Competition, is an assemblage of post-secondary students from Canada; it is one of the greatest artistic showcases in our community. The event will highlight the Tamil culture through our music, dance, and costumes. The intention of KALAIKAL 2010 is to work with the students and youth in the community as well as our community members, families, and friends. KCA’s vision is to unite the community through a proactive socio-cultural venture through an event that not only showcases the community’s talents, but helps make a difference in today’s society.
